Windows 8 is a new system with brand new features to the technology world including being able to run and view two different apps at the same time, "Skydrive" for easily accessible files, and an innovative design for maximum efficiency at both the mobile and PC level.

- Windows 8 is a completely new operating system released by Microsoft. Windows 8 has taken on a new way to computing. It does not follow the traditional operating system format that Microsoft has released before. It is designed for tablets and mobile computing devices. Almost all machines with Windows 8 are touch screen.
- Windows 8 has gone to this interface, so that they can improve their sales in the cell phone business. With this new interface, it is all touch screen enabled and phone usage is much easier as a result. People are able to have a phone and computer/tablet that have Windows 8 on it.
- The interface that Windows 8 uses is basically their start menu. The start menu is on the main screen and it opens up applications from that. Users are able to click on an application and easily access it. Before Windows 8 was released, users had to go into the start menu to access all applications, but since Windows 8 was released access is much easier.
- Windows 8 also has a new feature called UEFI which gives users a "secure boot." It protects the integrity of the operating system from programs being downloaded onto the device that could potentially harm the device.
